Karen Conny
Karen and Conny are sisters who grew up loving dogs, specifically English Setters. Due to our father's military career we were never able to have dogs as children. We never outgrew that love for dogs, and now we raise some of the top English Setters in the US and Canada.
We got our first English Setter in 1976, his name was Ch. Someday Devi of Jaccard Hill. Davey finished and was a well loved pet, but not included in our breeding program. When we decided we would start breeding we contacted Neal Weinstein of Guys N Dolls fame in hopes of getting an outstanding bitch. We were fortunate beyond our wildest dreams to get Ch. Guys N Dolls Clarissa Harlow! Clarissa became our foundation bitch, created our special bond in English Setters, and is behind all of our breeding.
We've spent over thirty years with this wonderful breed, and have bred fewer than half that many litters. There are many Editions champions, multiple Specialty winners, five homebred Best In Show winners, and numerous outstanding pets. Recently several Editions dogs have started field work and proven to be talented bird dogs.
Our dogs are our housepets and are kept as family members not kennel dogs. Since they are pets first, we keep only a small number of dogs usually 5 to 7 which is a nice size family for us. All dogs used in our breeding program are show champions, BAER normal, OFA certified and have sweet temperaments.
It has been our pleasure to own this breed for three decades and we have enjoyed every minute of it!
